a new/old project (dusted off)

When I discovered god existed in energy particles (July 2008)

When I discovered
god existed in energy particles,
the same kind of discovery when
I listen to The Smiths’ Louder Than Bombs
on headphones, I was walking to school,
the same walk in which I
flip off the man that flicks
his tongue at me in his side
view mirror as he passes me on the street,
and I saw the grass was touching
the same air particles that I was touching.
We were connected.

Or maybe it is not such a discovery.
Maybe it is more of an anti-climactic realization.
A guilty childlike admission that maybe you were right:
Maybe I can’t do this on my own;
Maybe I need help.

and the subsequent photo series, inspired by mascaro:
the summer i discovered god existed in energy particles (ended when we did)

favorite flower, i'm touching the ground that you are also touching (backyard, columbus, oh, august 2008)
